Euros Team of the Tournament (and why more defenders should get nominated for goal-scoring awards)

Image
The Euros are over and Italy are the Champions of Europe, meaning Emerson and Jorginho are Champions of Europe with both club and country! So now that this tournament is over, let's look at (in my eyes) the team of the tournament. I have tried to place in the best eleven, which meant that I had to play a back 5, or a 3-4-3, because it best accommodated for the players at hand. Let me also warn you that there wasn't one player who wasn't in the quarterfinals, so there won't be any Lukáš Hrádecký or Cristiano Ronaldo. So without further ado then, let's get into it.  Goalkeeper: Gianluigi Donnarumma  While Jordan Pickford and Kasper Schmeichel both had good tournaments, I simply could not leave the Euros Player of the Tournament out. PSG have a huge dilemma on their hands, with arguably the two best Ligue Un keepers both contracted to them, and I think it will be interesting to see who they'll start. Even if Donnarumma is only an understudy for a season or two, I...

My New Posting Schedule & More

Image
Welcome back everyone! So today is a bit different, but basically I will be explaining my new schedule and brushing over some other issues. Trying to post daily is taking a toll on me as it limits any free time that I have. While I do need to work hard to make this blog monetizable, I partly want to do that so I can make money while actually enjoying myself, and daily posting takes some of that enjoyment away from me. So while this schedule will probably be edited at some point, here is what I'm thinking. This will also help me work on other projects, such as my next book (this one will be fiction) and the boardgame I am trying to make. Please also leave your suggestions down below for any other posts, specifically Harry Potter or Rick Riordan related because I want to get more of those out. Let me also make it clear that this is the bare minimum I will do. If I feel like posting on, say, a Thursday, I will do that even though I don't have anything scheduled for Thursday. Witho...

Survivor Season 41: Leaked Cast Review Part 1

Image
Welcome back everyone! It was recently brought to my attention that reputable website Inside Survivor has released the 18 castaways rumored to feature in Survivor 41 (the rumored season title). I must admit I am a slight bit annoyed about the recent inclusions of fire tokens and the Edge of Extinction, two twists I am not overly keen on, and was quite happy when I heard the likelihood of neither returning. I am, however, happy about the all-new cast, as Survivor needs one or two more stars to invite back before they do a season featuring returnees.  I would actually like to see an "Old vs. New" Survivor season, featuring a tribe of players who only featured in the first ten seasons (e.g. Richard Hatch, Lex, T-Bird) up against a tribe featuring exclusively players from the ten most recent seasons (e.g. Devens, Davie, Domenick Abbate, and some who don't start with D too). But with that out the way, let's check out the first 6 cast members I took the time to stalk for yo...

My Euros Final Predictions

Image
Is it coming home or coming to Rome? Who knows! So today I am going to be trying to predict what is going to happen, from lineups to goal-scorers to winners, and I will then explain everything in 3 points. Remember that this is just my opinion, so feel free to leave yours in the comments below. Let's see who comes closest! But without further ado, let's go for it and try to predict who's gonna make it. The Euros Final 31' Immobile (asst. Insigne) 61' 🟥 Chiellini (Second Yellow) 63' Kane (Penalty) Penalties   England 4-3 Italy  Final Score  England 1 (4) - (3) 1 Italy  England Lineup: Pickford (GK), Shaw (LB), Maguire (CB), Stones (CB), Walker (LB), Rice (CDM), Phillips (CDM), Sterling (LM), Mount (CAM), Saka (RM), Kane (ST) Italy Lineup: Donnarumma (GK), Emerson (LB), Chiellini (CB), Bonucci (CB), Di Lorenzo (RB), Verratti (CM), Jorginho (CDM), Barella (CM), Insigne (LW), Immobile (CF), Chiesa (RW) 1: Very Few Goals  Both teams have excellent defensive records,...

Every Survivor Season's Best Player (Part 1)

Image
Yes, I know this is my third successive Survivor post, but I'm just trying to get some more content out there. I already have lots of posts on football and Harry Potter, and quite a few Rick Riordan posts too, but I only have two posts on Survivor. In this post I will be counting down my picks for every single season's best player. I will take seasons that players played in prior to the season into account, but not any that happened after that season because then at the point that the season happened they would not have been as good a player. In part 1, I will discuss the first 20 seasons. Season 1: Richard Hatch There were a few examples of players who could have challenged for this spot, such as Susan and Kelly, but there is really no option close to Survivor's first ever winner, Richard Hatch. He was the pioneer of the idea of an alliance, and a really intelligent and important player. Richard Hatch will be a name embedded into Survivor history books forever. Season 2: C...

Survivor South Africa: Immunity Island Players Ranked

Image
While we are still waiting expectantly on the 41st installation of Survivor, Survivor South Africa: Immunity Island is well underway. I am a huge fan of Survivor, and have hated the burden that the Covid restrictions have placed on it. So I was hugely happy when I heard about the South African installation's new season. I think, unlike many countries' Survivors, South Africa's one is almost identical to the original, and I have really enjoyed the first few episodes. Now that I have seen the players in action and how they coped with a tribe swap, I will be ranking them based on how likely I think it is that they will make it to the end. I think this is a better indication of there skill than whether or not they win, as the likes of Russel Hantz (Samoa) and Rob Cesternino (The Amazon), along with many others, have often been better players than the winners of their given seasons. I will obviously only be ranking the remaining members. 14: Wardah  Wardah started off fairly wel...

Survivor Season 37 - David vs Goliath: Top 5 Contestants Who NEED To Return

Image
It is a generally-agreed-on fact that the 37th installment of Survivor brought along with it one of the best casts ever. While it brought along an interesting premise, Survivor's contestants ultimately decide how good a season actually is. In this season you could not move for brilliant players, and I think something similar to Survivor: Cambodia - Second Chance is bound to happen soon, so I'll look at this season's potential returnees. This list excludes Nick, who has already returned (although I'd be all for it if he came back a third time). So which players from this season should return? Let's find out! 1: Davie When you are the linchpin in one of the most memorable and unthinkable blindsides in Survivor history, you deserve to return. It was a stroke of luck for the Survivor production team when Davie stepped in as a last-second replacement after a cast member pulled out, and he became one of the most memorable players in that season.  I really think that Davie...

My Euros Semifinal Predictions

Image
Out of the four quarterfinal fixtures, only one of my predictions for the winners was wrong, as I thought Belgium would overcome Italy. So yeah, not bad going since getting 6/8 of my predictions right in the quarterfinals is better than the 5/8 I got in the round of 16. So let's hope I can get both of my predictions for the semi's right, and hopefully some smaller predictions too. Italy vs Spain 10' Insigne 28' Immobile 72' OG Bonucci 86' 🟥 Koke  90+2' Insigne  Score: 3 - 1 Italy Lineup: Donnarumma (GK), Emerson (LB), Chiellini (CB), Bonucci (CB), Di Lorenzo (RB), Verratti (CM), Jorginho (CDM), Barella (CM), Insigne (LW), Immobile(CF), Chiesa (RW)  Spain Lineup: Simón (GK), Alba (LB), P. Torres (CB), Laporte (CB), Azpilicueta (RB), Pedri (CM), Busquets (CDM), Koke (CM), Sarabia (LW), Morata (CF), F. Torres (RW) Man of the Match: Lorenzo Insigne  Italy's strength lies in defense, while Spain are strong on the attack, but are prone to conceding. I thin...
