The Four Premier League 2021/22 Title Contenders: Evaluation & Head on Head Match-Up

Image
The Premier League is famous for its upsets and underdog stories. It has had 5 different clubs as Champions in the last 9 seasons, 3 of whom have one more than once and including a run of 4 different ones in 4 consecutive seasons. With regards to the rest of Europe's top 5 leagues, 3 different teams have won La Liga, 3 in Ligue Un (although PSG have won 7), 2 in Serie A (8 having been Juventus) and only a single team has won the Bundesliga, with Bayern dominating throughout that time frame.  This makes the league really fun to watch, but it is also really hard to pick a winner because of it. I have, however, whittled it down to 4 teams who would win the league fairly unsurprisingly. While I think if Leicester can hold on to Tielemans they could have an outside shot at winning, I would be greatly surprised if the next champion was not Chelsea, Liverpool or either of the two Manchester clubs. I will first do a short team evaluation, and then move on to the player-by-player analysis, ...

Every Premier League Number 1: Ranked

Image
Coming at you with another post, today I think it's time to rank Premier League Number 1s (the starting goalkeeper, not the actual person with the shirt number). I have previously played as a keeper and I am one of those people who thinks that having a top-class goalkeeper is more important than having a brilliant outfield player. If you guys like this it could potentially turn into my very first series, where I could look at center-backs, full backs and wingbacks, defensive midfielders, attacking midfielders, wingers and strikers, but that is up to you guys. Anyway, without further ado, let's head into the list. 20: Alex McCarthy There are no bad goalkeepers in this list, but Alex McCarthy is in my opinion the most mediocre of the mediocre ones. He does not have the excuse of being young or old, 31 being pretty much the average goalkeeper's prime, and while he is not prone to accidents he is still fairly limited. He has survived the 9-0 with his place intact, unlike his pr...

Every Premier League Manager: Ranked

Image
Just to clear things up, this list is on current ability in my opinion, so while I will take managerial achievements into account, these achievements will not be a real deciding factor. I think that makes it more interesting, because if we went by achievement alone it will basically be Guardiola, Klopp, Mourinho and Ancelotti followed by the oldest to youngest managers. Please feel free to comment your thoughts and opinions below, and I will do my best to answer them, although please understand that I probably won't see your comment if it is not made within 1 or 2 weeks of this post's publication. The order is from worst to best. With that in mind, let's get into it. 20: Paul Heckingbottom Easiest pick of the bunch. Wilder should never have been sacked, especially when there was no good back-up option. I get that Sheffield United were (and still are) rooted to the bottom of the Premier League, but sacking the only man who could possibly keep you up was never the right optio...
