My Euros Final Predictions

Is it coming home or coming to Rome? Who knows! So today I am going to be trying to predict what is going to happen, from lineups to goal-scorers to winners, and I will then explain everything in 3 points. Remember that this is just my opinion, so feel free to leave yours in the comments below. Let's see who comes closest! But without further ado, let's go for it and try to predict who's gonna make it.

The Euros Final

31' Immobile (asst. Insigne)
61' 🟥 Chiellini (Second Yellow)
63' Kane (Penalty)
Penalties
England 4-3 Italy
Final Score
England 1 (4) - (3) 1 Italy
England Lineup: Pickford (GK), Shaw (LB), Maguire (CB), Stones (CB), Walker (LB), Rice (CDM), Phillips (CDM), Sterling (LM), Mount (CAM), Saka (RM), Kane (ST)
Italy Lineup: Donnarumma (GK), Emerson (LB), Chiellini (CB), Bonucci (CB), Di Lorenzo (RB), Verratti (CM), Jorginho (CDM), Barella (CM), Insigne (LW), Immobile (CF), Chiesa (RW)

1: Very Few Goals
Both teams have excellent defensive records, with England having conceded only once and Italy thrice (but no more than one per game). This should mean that neither team will be shipping more than one goal (excluding end-off-match penalties). I have honestly been extremely surprised by England's defense. I always expected dependability from Walker and Maguire, but both Pickford and Stones are extremely accident-prone. Italy have surprised me less defensively, as Donnarumma, Chiellini and Bonucci were always expected to be dependable, but this does not mean they have played worse, I just started off assuming their brilliance.

2: One Goal Each
Neither team has shipped many goals, and both have only cracked against capable opposition and have not conceded more than once. Through this it is fair to assume that both teams will score once. I think Italy will strike with a through ball (England were caught out once or twice by Denmark) to Insigne, who will put it on a plate for Immobile to tap in. I would think that Chiellini will get riled up after a cheap yellow and foul one of England's intelligent wingers, earning a red and allowing for Kane to convert a penalty.

Penalties To Decide It!
Italy and England are very similar in ability and both have watertight defenses and threatening attackers. It has all all the signs of being a really tight and cagey affair, and I think it will ultimately go to penalties at 0-0, 2-2, or as I predicted 1-1. During this tournament, there have been an amazing number of missed and saved penalties, with a whopping seven of the sixteen awarded ones not having been converted.
This means that if a shootout were to occur, it is likely that neither team would score all of them. While Italy scored four of their five penalties against Spain, I think in the event of a shootout England would win 4-3, with neither of the goalkeepers being as good as the likes of Kasper Schmeichel, Tim Krul or other penalty-specialist keepers when it comes to saving spot kicks.

Those are my predictions, but please remember to share yours below in the comments.
