Every Club's Best Player Who Will Leave This Summer

Hello everyone, and welcome to my first post to come after the conclusion of the season. While I was slightly satisfied with a third-place finish after a pretty abysmal season for Liverpool, no person who isn't a City fan (so pretty much everyone, it's not called the Emptihad for nothing) is royally ticked off about City winning their third title in four years. And they're in a Champions League Final, which only took about ten years and over A BILLION DOLLARS. Yes, you heard that right, a billion dollars. And that's only in transfers, so wages, lawyers and bribes don't count. Anyhow, let's delve into this list before I start a fifty-paragraph essay on why I hate them and, while I can at least respect the likes of Manchester United and Everton, I cannot find any reason to respect City. This list will only consist of players who are currently permanently contracted to the club, and will be departing permanently.

Manchester City: Angeliño

For Manchester City it was a toss-up between Angeliño, who will be heading to RB Leipzig, young defender Eric García, who seems set to join Barcelona when the window opens and Sergio Aguero, who is also heading to Catalonia. In the end I went for Angeliño, who at this moment in time is the better player and has proved himself a bit more than García. I was really surprised to find out that Angeliño is actually only 24 and 4 years older than García, and will surprisingly also be leaving for a smaller fee. Aguero didn't make the cut because, while he would have been by far the best in his prime, he is well past that point and has had an immense drop-off this season.

Manchester United: Jesse Lingard
There were a few options for United, with Juan Mata and Dean Henderson the other two on my final shortlist. Of the trio, I feel like Mata is most likely to leave, and will definitely not go on loan but leave permanently if he does. Henderson is least likely to leave permanently, and I think while he is probably the best and most valuable player of the trio if he does leave it will likely be a loan, with a permanent deal too unlikely to justify putting him in this list. That leaves the second-best and second-most likely to leave permanently of the trio: Jesse Lingard.

Liverpool: Georginio Wijnaldum
One of the reasons I made this list in the first place, most Liverpool fans will mourn the loss, especially on a free, of Gini Wijnaldum. I cannot see Salah, Mané, Alisson, van Dijk or the one or two others who are better than Wijnaldum leaving Anfield, while Wijnaldum's departure is all but confirmed.

Chelsea: Olivier Giroud
I'm going to say it; Giroud is the best striker at Chelsea right now. He only needs eight goals to overtake Thierry Henry and become France's record goal-scorer. I struggle to understand why he doesn't start much more frequently at Chelsea, but competing for his position with Benzema, who has been included in France's Euro 2020 squad, means that if he wants to continue working towards that record he will need a move away from Chelsea this summer.

Leicester City: Christian Fuchs

There were three main candidates for this position: Youri Tielemans, who may be tempted with a move away from the King Power this summer, or one of Christian Fuchs and Wes Morgan, who are both Leicester legends. In the end I went for Fuchs, as I am always skeptical about extremely important players moving away from top-end clubs. There is always a bunch of speculation and the media hypes it up before it fizzes out and comes to nothing, like the Jadon Sancho debacle last year, and between Fuchs and Morgan I think Fuchs is the better player right now.

West Ham: Felipe Anderson
It's either a loan or a permanent transfer, because Felipe Anderson, while being a hugely creative and talented player, is about as welcome at West Ham as Mesut Özil was last year at Arsenal. He needs a move away from West Ham, potentially out of Europe's top 5 leagues, to get his career back on track. So yeah, I predict a move away from East London for Anderson.

Tottenham Hotspur: Dele Alli
Again, I think the media likes hype up big players transferring away from their clubs and I mean how many times have we heard that Harry Kane wants to leave Spurs. It makes no sense, because at 27 Kane needs less than 100 goals to become the record goal-scorer for both Tottenham AND the Premier League! And even without doing that, staying at Spurs a bit longer would pretty much guarantee legend status and potentially even a statue. I think with the right manager, if Spurs just focus on getting to the League Cup final again maybe they can finally get another piece of silverware. So yeah, I chose Dele Alli as a potential big-name move.

Arsenal: Héctor Bellerín
Arsenal were one of the hardest teams to find a player for, and after spending about 20 minutes scouring the internet for articles I just went for Héctor Bellerín, who has been linked with a move away from North London for years. PSG are just one of the potential suitors, and I think that he could be one of the gaps that Arsenal will need to fill in their squad.

Leeds United: Pablo Hernández
There are quite a few Leeds players who might leave, but one certain departure is that of Pablo Hernández. Along with Gaetano Berardi, Leeds has announced that he will be leaving. After 5 years of service it was a sad day for Leeds fans, despite their victory, when he was cheered off the field to a standing ovation.

Everton: Theo Walcott
While he may not have lived up to all the hype, Theo Walcott is still a good footballer, and will be permanently joining the Saints, who he is currently on loan with. He really fits in at Southampton and I think he can finally settle down for the final chapter of his career back where he began and maybe Arsenal fans can finally come to peace with the fact that he did not ultimately break into that top bracket of footballers.

Aston Villa: Tom Heaton
Jack Grealish is another who I do not think will leave his club this summer, so step forward Tom Heaton, who seems set to join Manchester United as the second-or-third choice keeper, depending on whether Henderson or de Gea departs from Old Trafford. While he has mostly played second fiddle to Emi Martínez this season, he is a brilliant mid-table goalkeeper and at 35 you can see why he would want a return to Old Trafford to again try to play in a United shirt.

Newcastle United: Andy Carroll
There are a few Newcastle players out of contract this summer, and Andy Carroll was joined on the shortlist by Dwight Gale and Jacob Murphy. I can't really see Newcastle letting go of Dwight Gale and I think Murphy will also probably stay. However, at 32 years of age and quite far down the pecking order I think Andy Carroll will probably be allowed to leave.

Wolves: Rafa Mir

While Pedro Neto, Daniel Podence and Romain Saïss all made my shortlist, I think Rafa Mir will be Wolve's biggest exit this window. Loaned out to Huesca in La Liga he really proved himself, but with the return of Raúl Jiménez and the potential permanent arrival of Willian José I think Wolves will probably cash in on the young Spaniard, especially as some speculate he may be valued at over €20 by some clubs such as Sevilla, Athletic Bilbao and even Atletico Madrid.

Crystal Palace: Patrick van Aanholt
Crystal Palace have announced that they are trying to make their squad younger, and van Aanholt is just one of the 17 players who are out of contract this summer. He was joined on my shortlist by Benteke, Schlupp, Townsend, Sakho, Clyne, Cahill. I think he could potentially be tempted with a move back to the Netherlands, possibly with PSV, who he used to play youth football with.

Southampton: Ryan Bertrand
It has been confirmed that Bertrand will be leaving Southampton, the question is where he will be headed. Reportedly Arsenal are leading the race for his signature, and I'm sure this won't be the last the Premier League sees of the 31-year-old fullback.

Brighton Hove and Albion: Yves Bissouma
Brighton have no shortage of talented young players, and Tariq Lamptey, Ben White and Leandro Trossard were among those I shortlisted. In the end I went for Yves Bissouma, who has been heavily linked with Liverpool and Arsenal along with many others.

Burnley: Jóhann Berg Guðmundsson
The only transfer on this list I am almost certain won't happen, I just looked at contracts for this one. While his contract does run out this summer I'd be pretty surprised if he doesn't sign a new contract. Burnley really can't afford to lose any players, especially not on a free.

Fulham: André-Frank Zambo Anguissa
If he's Championship standard, I'm a three-headed horse. He had Real Madrid sniffing at his heels a few years ago. If you think he is not at least midtable standard you evidently needed an emergency brain transplant when you were born, but there was nothing available but scrambled eggs and you now carry with you a few kgs of chicken feces wherever you go.

West Bromwich Albion: Matheus Pereira
Unless the Baggies can do a Norwich and keep hold almost all of their best players, Pereira is staying up. There are always a few examples of players who will be hand-picked from the relegated clubs to stay up, and I think Pereira will be one of them.

Sheffield United: Sander Berge
Ok, now I'm suspicious. Why are Arsenal linked with about half the players on this list? You'd swear they were Manchester United! Anyway, Sander Berge's departure is all but confirmed, with just about every team other than Universidad Autónoma de Chihuahua Fútbol Club linked with the big Norwegian. Yes, that is an actual club, based in Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, Mexico.

This post took a surprisingly long time to research and write, because while some clubs had loads of obvious options, like City and Palace and others, such as Liverpool and Southampton, having one standout option, many teams really don't have anyone who seems like they will definitely be heading out the door. Anyway, I hope you all enjoyed and please leave any recommendations, etc. in the comment section below. I hope you all enjoy and I will see you when next I post. Noah 乁( ⁰͡ Ĺ̯ ⁰͡ ) ㄏ
