Exiled and Eliminated; Survivor: Early Boots

I have seen some people speaking of a Survivor season of first boots, but seeing as there would only be a pool of 41 people (Francesca was first boot twice) I think a season with people who were the first boots would just be a whole bunch of horrific gameplay. However, one of people who were in the first 3 boots would greatly expand the selection pool and could be sufficient to make an exciting season with a lot to play for. I will try to have people from all the eras from Survivor, but will also try to be realistic about who might actually want to return. I will select 10 women and 10 men, like in a normal season, and will only select 1 player per season to avoid previous alliances and rivalries. I will only be including players who never on any season placed higher than third-last (e.g. Russell Hantz, although he was an early boot on Redemption Island, is ineligible). Also, I have made sure to abide by CBS' diversity mandate so that in the unlikely event someone from CBS stumbled

The BEST 23-Man England World Cup Squad

Image
Welcome back to my blog! In this post I will be taking a look at England's 23-man-squad options ahead of the upcoming World Cup. I do not agree with its placement in Qatar, as many human rights issues have come into play, and while I think there should be an attempt made to stop people from travelling to Qatar it is still something I will watch from home even if I am angry at the death and discrimination leading up to the tournament. With that said, let's go straight into the list. Goalkeepers With Aaron Ramsdale excelling for Arsenal and Jordan Pickford's Everton in a relegation dogfight, the competition for England's number one jersey has intensified. My shortlist was narrowed down to the following: Jordan Pickford, Nick Pope, Aaron Ramsdale and Fraser Forster. I elected to chose 3 of the four, because 2 seemed a terrible risk and 4 a slight bit unnecessary.  Forster just misses out here for a few reasons. At age 34, he is the oldest option of the bunch and with only

The Facade of the CBS Diversity Mandate

CBS has announced that many of its shows such as Survivor must have further cast diversity. The main change we have seen is that at least 50% of a show's cast must not be white. This does make sense, with almost exactly 50% of the US population not being white and this figure being underrepresented on many shows. Some have argued that there should be a bit of leeway to improve casts, and have proposed a minimum figure of 40%. I don't, however, really have the knowledge to make a judgement here.  What I do have knowledge on, however, is Survivor. Why, you may ask, do I feel like this is a facade? Simply because I feel as if while this may cause people to look different, which I do agree with, Survivor has made the actual personalities of these contestants very monotone. To be perfectly honest, season 41 had a pretty terrible cast, even if it looked good in a photo. I say, go on with this, and secure a racially diverse cast. It's a good thing! However, I feel that an entirely

Survivor 41: Final 6 Power Dynamics & SURVIVOR SCAM

We have reached the final 6 of Survivor 41, and I have seen certain incorrect analysis and other little issues I want to talk about recently on Survivor. I will start of by explaining the recent stunt done by Survivor in the most recent episode and will then predict the order of votes for the remainder of the season. Please leave your thoughts in the comments below, and without further ado let's head right in.  SURVIVOR SCAM I have watched and listened to a few people talking about the recent Do or Die twist, and have become extremely annoyed as a result. The reason? Everyone is saying the show should have explained the 1 in 3 shot at safety to the contestants. The issue here is that it was, in fact, a one in TWO shot. Why is no-one addressing this? Why is everyone talking about "one in three"?  The reason is that Survivor manipulated it to look that way. We as an audience were told that only 1 of the three boxes provided safety, when in actual fact whether DeShawn chose

Casting Heroes vs Villains 2

Image
Something most Survivor fans agree on is that we NEED a Heroes vs Villains 2. Polls have shown that it is considered by fans to be the best season ever. I will be able to include any players who did NOT compete in the 20-person Heroes vs Villains season, although I must say that think Courtney is a player who needs to compete again. I have seen many people do this by picking the competitors before assigning them to tribes, but I think one of the best things about the original was that everyone (except Sugar) really suited the role they were placed in. This results in the exclusion of players like Greg Buis, Spencer Bledsoe and Nick Wilson, who were brilliant but ambiguous. Please comment your cast below and let's get to it. Heroes Tribe: Richard Hatch Teresa Cooper Yau-Man Taj George Malcolm Freburg  Kelley Wentworth Latasha Fox Keith Nale Davie Rickenbacker Lauren Beck Listed in the order in which they first appeared, I think this is an amazing tribe. Richard Hatch is the first ev

Real Survivor: The Fox, the Bear, the Goat and the Bunny

Survivor fans such as myself are mostly familiar with certain terminology. For example, to be purpled is to be placed in the complete background of a particular editing, to the extent where you are utilized like the shelter or water well, firmly in the background of a lot of scenes without being in the forefront barring something bad happening to you, like the shelter being blown over or the well being contaminated. Perhaps the first bit of terminology that has a unique meaning is to be a goat, or someone who is used like an extra vote by another player or group of players. However, where the name "Goat" actually came from is something many fans, even hardcore ones, do not know the answer to. They would point to where someone like Ethan Zohn said it in early seasons and credit it to them. The person who actually coined this term is SurvivorSucks user sunsawed, whose article can be found here . Basically, he stated that most Survivor final fours consist of four different playe

Survivor 41 Cast: Most Similar Player - Part 2

Image
To find out my criteria, etc. please check out Part 1. Please share my post with your friends and without further ado, let's head right in. Danny McCray - Brad Culpepper  I really think Danny is going to end up having been one of the underrated players on this cast. So many people (including me) anticipated a big strong oaf who would boss challenges but portray "the emotional range of a teaspoon" to quote Hermione Granger. This was something most also thought would be true of Brad Culpepper, but both seem emotionally and mentally intelligent as well as being huge Survivor fans, and I think Danny will likely play a game similar to Brad's Game Changers performance, especially if he can survive the first post-merge vote. Naseer Muttalif - Johnathan Penner  Why he was predicted for a first boot I do not know. This prediction is looking a bit more into the future, but I definitely see at least one flip coming from Naseer. I think he will turn out as a above-par player who

Survivor 41 Cast: Most Similar Player - Part 1

Image
Pretty simple here: I will be telling you which player every new castaway is, in my eyes at least, going to be most similar to. I do unfortunately have a lot of castaways to get through, so my explanations will be brief. There will be spoilers for the first episode, and if you do not have access please consider looking at this YouTube channel, where you can find all the episodes, as well as old challenges, older seasons and more. It is also helpful to recap what went on if you have watched the show. Anyway, let's head straight in.  Eric Abraham  I stated before the season began that Eric would be either a Rudy or a Phillip, and I think the latter is correct. They have similar mannerisms, served in the army, have a lot of tattoos and neither was afraid to talk or be the first to put a name forward. This strategy is better suited for a bigger tribe, and he was the first boot of the season.  Sara Wilson  Let me just start by saying that Sara annoyed the hell out of me and I thank her

Pep Guardiola: The Best Fraud

Image
To clear it up, Pep Guardiola is a very good manager. Under certain conditions he is amazing. I am merely trying to prove why he is NOT anywhere near the best ever manager. Solely in the Premier League Thomas Tuchel and Brendan Rodgers are as good and Jurgen Klopp is better. I will look at older criticisms, but I actually have some more insightful criticisms I haven't seen made to look at. So without further ado, let's go!  Nothing Revolutionary  When has Pep Guardiola done the unexpected. At the beginning he was at Barca B. He won the fourth division of Spanish football. This was a division they hadn't been in for over a quarter of a century, and like Fulham in the Championship they were expected to win. And can anyone honestly tell me that the likes of Ralph Hasenhuttl, Graham Potter or even Steve Bruce couldn't win the Spanish fourth division with the best team in the division. And you might say "Oh, he was a new manager! He had no experience!" The likes of
